United News of BangladeshBD women to play 2nd Futsal match against Vietnam FridayThursday 03 May, 2018Dhaka - Bangladesh Women’s team will play their 2nd match of the five-a-side AFC Women’s Futsal Championship against stronger and four-time South East Asian Games runners-up Vietnam in Thai capital Bangkok on Friday.
Bangladesh, which got off to a frustrating start in the AFC Women’s Futsal Championship losing to Malaysia by 1-7 goal in the first international appearance on Wednesday, will play their remaining group match with Chinese Taipei on May 6 at the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium, also in Bangkok Ahead of the match against Vietnam, Bangladesh team made good practices on Thursday morning and did a swimming session in the team hotel— Hotel Golden Tulip. All the players of the Bangladesh team are physically and mentally fine and sound.
Although Vietnam are very good and strong team, Bangladesh are also equal in strength. Barring a little bit difference in experiences, they are fully ready to fight against their giant rivals in their second match
Fifteen Asian teams, split into four groups, are competing in the five-a-side women’s football tournament with Bangladesh putting in Group B with Malaysia, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei. The group champions and runners-up team will play in the quarterfinals.
Bangladesh captain cum experienced women’s booter Sabina Khatun is the only player who has experience of playing the futsal in the Maldives domestic circuit in 2016.

The match was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Vietnamese side dominated the game from the start.
However, they had to wait until the 29th minute to score an opening goal, thanks to Nguyen Thi Thanh.
Vietnam continued to dominate the game after the break but did not score more goals.
In another match of Group B, Malaysia crushed Bangladesh 7-1 to top the rankings.
“Vietnam missed many chances to score goals in this match. Since it was their first match, the players were not confident enough. I hope they will play well in the next match against Bangladesh on May 4,” said head coach Truong Quoc Tuan.

Holders Iran started their Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Futsal Championship title defence with a comfortable victory over debutants Turkmenistan.
The Iranian team took just seven seconds to take the lead at the Indoor Stadium Huamark, with Fatemeh Etedadi finding the net.
It set up a tough match for Turkmenistan, who proved unable to stem the flow of Iranian goals.
Etedadi, Fahimeh Zarei and Karimi all found the net twice in the first half, helping Iran to an 8-0 lead at half-time.
Karimi would complete her hat-trick in the second half, while Etedadi scored to late goals as Iran ultimately secured a 14-0 success.
The result puts them top of Group D and should secure their place in the knock-out stage of the competition.
Turkmenistan will hope to bounce back from their damaging debut defeat when they meet Uzbekistan in their second match on Saturday (May 5).
China and Japan both began their Group C campaigns with comfortable victories against Bahrain and Lebanon.
The Chinese team recovered from conceding in their first minute to Bahrain to secure a 5-2 victory in their contest in the Bangkok Arena.
Japan were able to complete a 5-1 win over Lebanon to put themselves top of the group.
The top two teams from each group will advance.
Group A and B will resume tomorrow.
