It is staging three trials in Belfast next month with the aim of unearthing players for the national team. The trials are open to players aged 16 and above.
During the domestic futsal season Irish FA Foundation staff will observe women’s games and invite players to further trials early next year. The squad will then be established with the aim of competing in friendly international fixtures during 2018.
Those interested in being considered for selection should complete the online form at the bottom of the page and state which trial date is most suitable. Those players currently involved in international football squads are not eligible at this time.
Selection criteria is as follows:
A player who is eligible to represent one or more than one Association on account of her nationality may play in an international match for one of these associations only if, in addition to having the relevant nationality, she fulfils at least one of the following conditions:
a) She was born on the territory of the relevant association;
b) Her biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant association;
c) Her grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant association;
d) The player has undertaken primary and/or secondary education for a minimum of five years in the territory of the relevant association.
Trials are taking place on the following dates at Shankill Leisure Centre in Belfast: Sunday 5 November, 12:00 to 14:00; Sunday 12 November, 12:00 to 14:00, and Sunday 19 November, 12:00 to 14:00.
