Redlands crowned under 10 Futsal Dorset Girls Champions

REDLANDS FC girls were celebrating last week after winning the Dorset Girls Under 10 Qualifier for the FA Futsal National Youth Festival.

The event, staged at Redlands Community Sports Hub in Weymouth, saw clubs from across the County competing for the prestigious title in the five-a-side indoor version of football where the skill of the players is at a premium.

After progressing from the group stages, the hosts beat Poole-based Longfleet in the final and now progress to the South West Regional Final when they will compete against the County champions from Cornwall, Devon, Gloucester, Wiltshire and others.

Club spokesman Tim Davis said: “It is a fantastic achievement both for the talented young players and the club, and shows that the club is at the forefront of girls football development in Dorset. If your daughter would like to come and play for Redlands FC contact tim_wfc@live.co.uk.”
