Carlisle Futsal club over-subscribed due to popularity

A Carlisle Futsal club is proving so popular it's waiting list is now twice as long as the number of players taking part.

The sport began in Brazil and places a greater emphasis on technique and skill than regular football.

Coaches believe it is improving the next generation of players:

It is a no brainer for football really. It is a smaller area, a faster surface. Kids get more touches of the ball. For decision making, speed of thought: it is great for the kids.
