The StarFutsal one way to build characterFriday, 16 December 2016by
Jarod LimTHE 7th Tech Terrain College (TTC) futsal tournament Men’s category final was rather one sided when team Enjit-enjit Semut cruised through with a 3-0 victory over team Apaka Nama in the annual tournament.
The first and second goals for the champions were scored in quick succession with their opponents struggling to keep pace.
Fans from both sides gave their teams encouragement with loud cheering and rightly so team Apaka Nama slowly improved on their performance and gradually got into the game but were unable to breach their opponents’ steady defence.
Held at Ferro futsal court, Taman Perindustrian Subang, Subang Jaya, the annual TTC futsal tournament was held for the seventh time this year. A total of 30 teams participated in the event.
In the final of the female’s category, Rd Girl showed early domination of their match while facing Iron Girl, taking a 2-0 lead.
Hopes for a comeback by Iron Girl were high after they scored a goal in the last two minutes of the match.
In their bid to tie the game and bring it to the decisive penalty shootout, they tried everything but to no avail as the match ended with Rd Girl crowned champions, winning 2-1.
College operations and administration director Rajeswari Ramahnujam Somu said the tournament offered an avenue for the students to excel in sports.
“We can see the players build their character through futsal with teamwork and leadership.
“Futsal is one of the tournaments we hold annually. We also organise badminton and bowling tournaments,” she said.
The Top Scorer award was won by Gixssiva Nagendra Rou for the Men’s category, while Akmatul Zaharah Nordin took honours in the Ladies category.
Sponsors for the event were McDonald’s Malaysia, Gardenia Bakeries Malaysia, Mamee Double Decker and Noraini’s Cookies.
