Wicked Local MaldenBoston City FC club course to be held in MaldenThe colder weather will not deter local youth from soccer training with Boston City FC, as the club’s clinics move indoors for the winter. The sport of Futsal, which champions improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces, will be the focus of a three-month Boston City FC coaching course to be held in the Malden Catholic High School gym, beginning on Dec. 5.
The National Premier Soccer League’s academy coaches are inviting local youth to sign up to improve their soccer skills and attend sessions on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. The three-month program is priced at $300 and includes a club academy shirt for attendees. Parents in Greater Boston whose children are interested in being trained by their local professional soccer club should register at bostoncityfc.com/sign-up-form-boston-city-fc-location or email contact@BostonCityFC.com.
“The key to becoming a better soccer player is to improve technique and individual ball skills and working indoors with experienced coaches who understand how to teach Futsal will make this possible,” said Boston City head coach and former Brazil international Palhinha. “Many of the top players in the world today attribute their advanced ability to Futsal, and the dedicated young soccer players who attend our clinics will see their ability increase significantly.”
Boston City FC will also continue the strong partnership with Malden Catholic High School and will train members of the school’s soccer team during these indoor sessions.
Athletes should bring a ball, a filled water bottle, mandatory shin guards, a training uniform of your choice and footwear suitable for an indoor gym surface.
