Champions York City Futsal go clear

Defending champions York City Futsal have moved three points clear at the top of National League North Division Two after their 4-1 weekend victory against Nottingham Trent at the University of York Sports Arena.

Following a scoreless opening half, the Minstermen moved a couple of goals clear through acting skipper Miguel De Vicente and Jamie Bettson before Thomas Mueller pulled one back with seven minutes remaining.

However, England Under-19 international Dylan McAvoy and eight-goal joint-leading marksman De Vicente added further efforts to secure the hosts a sixth straight victory.

Champions York City Futsal have now won six successive games this season

Meanwhile, second-placed Tranmere Rovers were thrashed 13-2 at last season's runners-up Derby, for whom Joseph Illston completed a personal five-goal haul alongside Kieran Oliver (3), Krystian Antczak (2), Dylan Harris-Newton (2) and Samuel Huntingdon. A well-beaten Rovers side replied through Javier Coleto Cano and Jordan Deer.

Elsewhere, Loughborough Academy defeated Liverpool 5-3 in the only other game taking place.
