Big Apple SoccerNew turf field will be unveiled at Futsal Facility in Kearny, N.J.October 3, 2016A new turf field will be unveiled at the Kearny, N.J. Futsal Facility Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The mini-pitch was installed in 2009 and, after being heavily utilized by local youths and adults for seven years, was replaced by Hellas Construction.
This project is part of the Red Bulls' and U.S. Soccer Foundation's commitment to offer safe places to play in communities across the metropolitan area and to provide a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play within local communities in order to support the continued growth of the game in North America.
Following the official dedication, local youth will participate in small-sided matches on the new pitch. Red Bulls players will serve as celebrity coaches, and will be available for autographs and photos with event participants.
BJ's Wholesale Club also has supported the new field.
Among those scheduled to attend:
* Red Bulls general manager Marc de Grandpre
* Red Bulls defender Connor Lade
* U.S. Soccer Foundation president and CEO Ed Foster-Simeon
* Kirk Saville, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, BJ's Wholesale Club
