Futsal League success hailed

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletic Association President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, headed by Hisham Mohamed Al Jowder, for organising the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centres Futsal League and the first People with Disabilities League under the slogan ‘Meeting of Generations’.

Shaikh Khalid expressed gratitude to the officials in the ministry for the outstanding sports event. “The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs always excel in their organisational efforts and the success of this league continues to build on the success of the previous leagues which aim to serve the kingdom’s youth in the sports sector,” he said.

Shaikh Khalid added: “We praise the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in organising the Futsal League. We cannot forget the ministry’s efforts in translating the directives of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa by launching programmes that aim to support the youth and refine their abilities so that they can contribute to the kingdom’s development process in various fields, especially sports.”

Al Jowder expressed thanks and gratitude to Shaikh Khalid for sponsoring the closing ceremony of the league.

Interest

He said: “We were all happy when Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the matches and crowned the winners. This proves his keen interest in standing by the youth centres to develop sport programmes in the kingdom.”

Al Jowder said the fourth edition of Futsal League was a success based on figures. The number of participating youth centres had reached 32 and there were six teams with disabilities.

He added that the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs would continue its commitment towards the league in future editions and would prepare a plan for the fifth edition.
