Bahrain News AgencyKhalid bin Hamad Youth Centres League continues27/08/2016Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): The Second Round matches (Round of 16) begin today, in the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centers Futsal League and the First League for People with Disabilities, organized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs.
Four matches will be held today at the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation's (BDSF) hall in Isa Sports City. The winner of the matches will qualify to the quarter finals of the league.
All teams have hopes of reaching the finals and the competition is going to be tough. It's also worth to note that the Second Round will continue tomorrow with another 4 matches.
The first match begins at 5PM with Al Shakhoora Youth Center team (the leaders of Group 1) facing Dumistan Youth Center team (second place holders of Group 2).
The second match begins at 6PM with Karranah Youth Center team (the lead of Group 2) facing Bu Quwah Youth Center team (the second lead of Group 1)
The third match begins at 7PM with Central Youth Center team (the lead of Group 3) facing Karbabad Youth Center team (the second lead of Group 4)
The Fourth match begins at 8PM with Sanabis Youth Center team (the lead of Group 4) facing Abu Saiba Youth Center team (the second lead of Group 3)
A large crowd turnout is expected, especially since the league is reaching advanced stages.
League presents many talents, embraces youthMr. Abdullah Khalid, the Director of News of the Ministry of Information Affairs, stressed that the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centers Futsal League and the First League for People with Disabilities, is considered to the be one of the most kind and striking initiatives launched by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Athletics Association.
Mr. Abdullah Khalid pointed out to the positive outcome of the league which has 32 youth centers from different governorates and cities in the Kingdom. He also explained the league's importance in creating many youth talents that could be utilized in national teams and clubs.
This came during a visit by Mr. Abdullah Khalid to the Group 5 and 6 matches where he met Mr. Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal, Director of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office, and Hamad Al Jaber, Director of the League.
Mr. Abdullah Khalid talked about the prominent role of the league in gathering the youth centers under one roof and its impact in enhancing the social relation and promoting patriotism amongst Bahrain's youth.
He also explained that the initiative of launching a league for people with disabilities by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, reflects on the humanitarian values of His Highness. Mr. Abdullah Khalid also said that this initiative translates the wise leadership’s vision of integrating this category into different parts of society.
He also pointed out that the League for People with Disabilities outcome will give Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation officials the opportunity to discover talents that could be utilized in national teams and clubs.
Mr. Abdullah Khalid pointed out the league's advancement, year after year, is proof of the great support provided by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is always keen on supporting the youth and sports sectors.
He also praised the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs efforts.
Injuries have forced us to leave earlyHamad Al Nauimi, a player from Naim-Sulta Youth Center team, talked about his teams' participation in the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centers Futsal League and the First League for People with Disabilities.
He pointed out that his team delivered a great performance in the previous edition, but was forced to leave early this year due to the injuries sustained by the players.
Al Nauimi pointed out that he hopes to deliver higher performances in the next edition of the League.
A Physiotherapist to follow up on the player’s injuriesThe matches of the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centers Futsal League and the First League for People with Disabilities, included a physiotherapy specialist in cooperation with the National Sports Medicine Center.
The specialist was quick on following-up cases of injuries sustained by players during the matches and treated them as soon as possible. The presence of the physiotherapist comes under the framework of the organizing committee's keenness to ensure the participants safety.
The specialist treats the players and determines if they need to be moved to the hospital, in the presence of paramedics who are also present in all the matches.
There is one reported case of a player being transported to Bahrain Defense Force Hospital, Sayed Alawi from Jurdab Youth Center team, who had an operation.
HH Shaikh Khalid hails Bapco's supportHH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth & Sport, the President of Bahrain Athletics Association, valued Bahrain Petroleum Company's (Bapco) initiative to become a bronze sponsor to the 4th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League and the 1st People with Disabilities League, stating that it shows the company's keenness to support sport activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. HH also underlined that Bapco's sponsorship would greatly contribute to the event's success. For his part, Mr. Nawaf Al Ghanim, the Head of the Public Relations Department in Bapco, affirmed the company's keenness to be among the sponsors of this prestigious event, stating that supporting the event is part of Bapco's top priorities as it is part of its strategies to contribute to the successes of local sport and national events that are meant to accommodate the Bahraini youth. Mr. Al Ghanim lauded the role being played by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in developing the sport sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as ensuring its constant development in order to enable the Bahraini athletes to compete on platforms of any kind of sports and relevant events.
Futsal League matches to be aired liveBahrain Sport TV will air all the coming matches of the 4th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League, starting from Sunday. The matches will be broadcast on Bahrain Sport TV 1. It's worth noting that the previous games had been televised on Bahrain Sport TV, but not live. The matches are not in the play offs stages, and expected to be packed with fierce competition due to which spectators can expected tightly contested games. Airing the matches live will allow fans, who cannot attend the matches from the stands, to cheer for their favourite teams from their homes. The event is taking place at the hall of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF). Bahrain Sport TV is making tremendous efforts to provide an exclusive and extraordinary coverage to the event with special interviews with players guests as well as members in the Organising Committee planned to be broadcast.
Futsal League initiative praisedHead of Sport Activities at the Salmabad Youth Center praised the efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in sponsoring and supporting the Bahraini youth as well as the sport sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain via the launch of many initiatives targeting youth and encouraging them to showcase their skills and abilities.
"HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa is making great efforts to support youth by introducing programmes and initiatives in different sectors, especially sport. These will definitely give them great opportunity to display their abilities and to develop them further, and will contribute in developing sports as a whole," Jaffar Hassan said before highlighting the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, headed by HE Mr. Hesham Al Jowdar. "Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League will enable us to achieve many goals, most notably reinforcing loyalty, nationalism, and social interaction among people from villages and cities, volunteering as well as discovering talents," he added.
"HH has been always at the forefront when it comes to humanitarian efforts which translate the directives of the wise leadership to accommodate people with disabilities and take advantage of their talents and creativity in different sectors," he concluded.
