professionalfutsal.comBrazilian Superstar Falcão to represent Team PFL in revised PFL SuperCopaBrazilian futsal icon Falcão will represent the Professional Futsal League in the new format for the PFL SuperCopa.
The SuperCopa will take place at 5 p.m. Aug. 8 in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Falcão will join the top players from the PFL Player Combine to form Team PFL against Australia’s Fremantle Muita Calma Futsal Club.
“I am very excited for the (SuperCopa) this August in Orlando helping with the growth of futsal in the USA,” Falcão said. “It’s a market that I strongly believe is going to do well.”
The format shift proved necessary due to recently announced league scheduling conflicts for the Brazilian clubs São Paulo Futebol Clube and Futsal Brasil Kirin.
The PFL SuperCopa marks the second exhibition for the new league supported by investors Donnie Nelson and Brian Dick.
Futsal supporters need only purchase a ticket to enter the ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort ($17 adult, $12 child) for FREE general admission into the SuperCopa. Disney Season Pass holders and World Futsal Challenge participants receive FREE admission.
Patrick Dicks, the Manager of Sports Development-Disney Sports, said that he is pleased to have the SuperCopa join the Disney World Resort’ based on the successful experience of hosting the World Futsal Championships.
“Our staff looks forward to joining our park visitors from South America as well as futsal fans from around the world in watching Brazilian star Falcão compete as part of the PFL SuperCopa this August,” Dicks said.
The PFL will announce details later this week about a special VIP experience where supporters can interact with Falcão.
