AFC, UEFA Futsal Officials to Meet Next Week

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to improve futsal in Asia by using major futsal powers as modeling and next week AFC futsal officials will meet their European counterparts, UEFA, officials.

AFC Futsal Department’s Iranian Director Ali Targholizadeh in an interview with Fut5al said the AFC futsal department has begun its study on for modeling world’s major successful futsal countries from Europe.

He said the AFC has started a big move to improve futsal in the Asian continent by working and studying top European futsal countries like Russia, Spain and Italy as well as the Union of European Football Associations, UEFA.

Targholizade said the AFC futsal department has started study on eight categories in Europe. Competition, professional teams, education, planning for the young adolescents, website and media, marketing and sponsorship, administrative and staff structure and finally planning are the eight major categories are understudy, he added.

He also pointed to the meeting with the Spanish Futsal League (LNFS) director s and said the two sides had valuable talks.

Targholizade added that he met president of Spanish Football Federation and later paid a visit to Barcelona Club and studied the performance of the club and its academy.

He concluded that the Asian delegation is to continue its study and visit by traveling to Italy and Switzerland next week and will meet UEFA officials in Geneva. The visit will wind up by signing a comprehensive agreement and all achievements of the study and visits will be shared with Asian futsal power horses in a seminar later.
