Professional Futsal League SuperCopa 2015 set for August in Orlando

Brazilian clubs, Brazilian star Falcão headed to Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

FRISCO, TX _ A Brazilian Super Club and a Brazilian Super Hero will highlight the PFL SuperCopa 2015.

Brazil’s legendary São Paulo Futebol Clube and Brazilian star Falcão with his team, Futsal Brasil Kirin, will headline the PFL SuperCopa 2015.

The tournament is slated for August 4 and 8 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The PFL SuperCopa 2015 marks the second event in PFL history following the U.S. futsal record-setting attendance at the PFL International Challenge in March.

PFL Commissioner Keith Tozer said the PFL SuperCopa marks the next step toward full league play in November 2016.

“Hosting our first ever PFL SuperCopa in a world famous place like Disney World with the most recognizable futsal player in the world, Falcão, truly makes this a magical and historical moment for the PFL, USA Futsal as well as the game itself,” Tozer said. “The PFL and its strategic partners are committed to provide North America, its owners, sponsors and fans the best that futsal has to offer.”

An additional two teams will be added to the four-team field. Brazil’s Liga Paulista arranged for the two Brazilian teams to participate in the PFL SuperCopa 2015 thanks to LPF President Laercio Graca.

“For us of LPF, it will be an honor and great pleasure to go to the USA, to help develop futsal,” Graca said. “We will take our knowledge with great players and professionals, and certainly we will learn a lot from the culture of a country that is prominent in sports in general. We are very flattered and we are thankful that we can be part of this great event.”

The PFL SuperCopa 2015 will coincide with the 2015 World Futsal Championships powered by USA Futsal.

Rob Andrews, President of USA Futsal, said the youth and adult amateur participants accepted to the 2015 World Futsal Championships that utilize the official GetSports travel packages will receive a free ticket to the PFL SuperCopa 2015.
