Dear futsal friends,
today is a special one! First because we're opening a new edition of the AGLA Futsal Awards, the 15th edition of the annual prizes released by Futsalplanet.com.

If we look back, it's amazing to run this website since 1997 and these futsal awards since 15 seasons, but everything is easier with a real passion!

In this edition will be reintroduced the voting system, our experts panel will therefore determine the winners of each category.

As for our established tradition the AGLA Futsal Awards 2014 will be opened by the nominees list for the Best Women Futsal Player of the World category. And this looks like the "perfect day" in order to do that, as it allows us to give our support to the international campaign in favour of women futsal, characterized by the hashtag #WomenPlayFutsalFIFA.

Frankly speaking we don't feel the need to say "today we're supporting women futsal" as we're doing this since a while! This "fight" looked to be totally unknown in 2007 when we first introduced this category of the Futsal Awards. So, we're just glad to keep on supporting the worldwide futsal girls and above all is good to see that there's a bigger audience for them right now! They deserve this and much more!

The campaign seems to be focused on the request to FIFA for an official Futsal Women World Cup: what we suggest is to "expand it" to the Confederations, National FAs, press... in order to reach the elite you must have a solid base! We will be helping!

Let's come back to the Awards now! No need to say that a "basic point" taken into account for this category list of nominees is given by the Women World Futsal Tournament challenge (held in Costa Rica in 2014), being the most important international event of women futsal.
