Albuquerque: "Put on a good event”

For Sporting’s Director of Futsal, the hosting of the UEFA Futsal Cup Final Four is an honour and a privilege, but also comes with its share of responsibility.
“It is a huge honour for Sporting to host the most important futsal event in Europe and it is a privilege to become the only club to host this event twice, after 13 years of this competition. On the other hand, UEFA trusting in us again brings more responsibility. We have already organised four Elite Rounds and a Final Phase, so we cannot let people’s expectations down now”, opened Miguel Albuquerque, adding that the hosting of the prestigious competition is an award his department’s hard work: “This is compensation for everyone, from the technical team through to the board, the players and especially the fans. This is probably the biggest sports event that will take place in Lisbon in 2015.”

For the Alvalade director, his department’s objectives are clear: “We want to beat the record for spectators with more than 10,000 and we will need the support of Sporting’s fans to do that. We want to put on a good event and to leave our mark.”
