DK Futsal League Denmark 14-15

When comparing the Danish league to the leagues of other countries, there is no doubt about the fact that futsal is still quite new in Denmark. However, the futsal tournaments from the Danish Football Association (DBU) are booming and see a significant growth in number of teams this year. This makes it even harder to qualify for the top league which has been announced recently. The top league consists of 16 teams in total and will kick off the 8th of November while the finals will be played the 21st and 22nd of February. This means 4 months packed with exciting top level futsal play all over Denmark.

Format
The top league is split into two groups, one in the east and one in the west with 8 teams in each group. These groups do, however, not have the same format.

East group
All the teams meet each other twice. Each round with 4 matches are played as an event on the same day at the same venue. This makes a total of 14 rounds. Number 1 and 2 qualify for Final 4, while number 7 and 8 will be relegated to the east 2nd division.
The 8 teams in the east group are the following: København Futsal (defending champions), JB Futsal Gentofte, FC Fjordbold, BGA, B1903, Nørrebro Boldklub, HB (new) and Boeslunde (new).

West group
All the teams meet each other once. The first round is played on the same day at the same venue whereas the remaining 6 rounds give each team 3 home matches and 3 away matches. There will be playoff matches for qualification to Final 4 with the teams placed 1st and 4th to meet each other and the 2nd and 3rd placed teams to meet. In addition to that, there will be relegation playoff in the same manner with the matchups: 5th vs. 8th and 6th vs. 7th. These playoff matches are played in the weekends February 7-8 and February 14-15.
The 8 teams in the west group are the following: Midtals IF, Søhus Stige, Hårslev, Nørskovlund, Lystrup IF, St Restrup, Kolding (new) and Veflinge (new).

Final 4
The Final 4 tournament will take place in Roskilde-Hallerne, February 21-22. The semifinal matchups on the 21st of February are the following:
West 1st vs. East 2nd
East 1st vs. West 2nd
The final and 3rd place match are played on the 22nd of February. The winner of the Final 4 tournament will be crowned Danish champions and play in the UEFA Futsal Cup in the next season.
