The Executive Committee of the Belarussian Futsal Association have voted for
Vladimir Ignatik (MAPID Minsk) as the new Head Coach of the national team. He fought of competition from the other three nominees
Vladimir Levus,
Yuri Poklad and
Victor Tarchen.
The 55 year old is now tasked with preparing the team for the qualifiers of the UEFA Futsal EURO 2016. Belarus will play in the Main Round in March 2015 against hosts Poland, Italy and the winner of Preliminary Round Group B which includes Finland, Montenegro, Cyprus and Wales.
Ignatik willl bring a lot of experience having an extensive coaching career which included a short spell as Head Coach of Russia. He has won many titles in Russia and Belarus, being voted Best Coach in the later in 2006 and 2011. He was previously involved in the Belarus coaching setup in 2010 when they played the UEFA Futsal EURO in Hungary.
