Birmingham Futsal Club are proud to have signed two Catalan (Spanish) Futsal players to TEAM UNITED and reinforcing what is an already strong team.
Pau López and Arnau R. Vallverdú will play for the club this upcoming season.
Recently appointed coach Ernest Cardona scouted the players, who were all at his previous teams.
Now in England, the players look forward to playing with their new team-mates in an exciting and competitive FA National Futsal League. Improving their English and experiencing our culture is also high on their list of priorities.
López and Vallverdú also hope that their knowledge and skills acquired in Spain will prove to be beneficial to their team-mates and vice versa.
Pau López started playing Futsal at the age of twelve and currently plays on the wing (in Spanish ‘ala’). His previous club was l’Hospitalet Bellsport. Pau is very competitive, and talented in defending and attacking play, an essential requirement to be a great Futsal player.
Arnau R. Vallverdú started playing Futsal at eleven years old and plays as a goalkeeper (‘porter’). Before joining Team United, he was signed to l’Esportiu Claret. Arnau is very good at organising the team from the back and motivating his team-mates to keep the same level of intensity throughout the game, a valuable attribute for a goalkeeper along with rapid reflexes when needed.
It is obvious that these players are passionate about the sport. It’s not unusual to see them discussing tactics during their downtime.
We wish them lots of success and look forward to a great season for all the players and everyone else involved with Team United Birmingham Futsal Club.
Please come along to the games and show your support during what is likely to be the most exciting season yet.
