Olympiada won the Cup

On the weekend of Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of March the Greek Futsal Cup Final-4 took place. The participating teams were the current top 3 in the League Championship League (ATHINA90, DOUKAS and OLYMPIADA) along with, the competition surprise, 2nd division team REKAL.

In the 1st semi-final, the Greek "Classico" rivals ATHINA90 and DOUKAS played out a tough battle to claim victory, which was only decided by a penalty shout-out (1-1, 2-2, 3-0); giving ATHINA90 the ticket to the following day's Final.

In the 2nd semi-final OLYMPIADA beat REKAL 8-1 and made it to the Final for a repeat of last year's CUP Final.

The Final game was also, as expected, another close and strong contest, with ATHINA90, the regular Greek Champions and Cup winners and OLYMPIADA, the upcoming Greek Futsal power, giving each other a tough match.

The game was close and the scores were equal after regular time (1-1). During extra time OLYMPIADA scored twice and the sound of the final whistle meant their team-members and fans celebrated their 1st ever trophy and possibly the beginning of their own era!!
