In January we announced that Javi Rodriguez would sign for Baku United in England. We can now confirm that the transfer has been finalised and he is already in training with his new team.

It is a fantastic scoop for the English Champions, who have signed one of the game's most historic names. He has been a key figure in the successes of the Spanish National Team, Playas De Castellon and FC Barcelona over the last 15 years. Between them have won everything there is to win in the game.

After a short spell in Kuwait, he is now hoping to have another fruitful period at his new club. He has signed until the end of next season and will aim to aid Baku's mission to retain the English title and have a successful campaign in the UEFA Futsal Cup next year. The former Spain and FC Barcelona captain could become an important figure not only for Baku but for English futsal, as the sport is still in its infancy in the country.
