Fiji TimesFiji TV aims to win its first FUTSAL tournamentby
Arin KumarSaturday, January 04, 2014THE Fiji TV side has set its sights on winning the Nasinu Teachers College FUTSAL tournament today.
The side has been competing in the 5-man code for almost a decade now but has not tasted success.
Team captain Vashneel Prasad said they had always fallen short and lost in the finals.
"We have been runners-up in the Fiji Sports Council-organised tournament and the Tagi Vonolagi-organised business house tournament last year," he said.
"And we also participated in an 11-a-side Vodafone business house tournaments as well.
"It's about time we win something to add to our runners-up trophy collection."
The team is made up of workers from their office in Suva and Prasad said it promoted team bonding in the workplace and on the field.
"Some of the players are from different departments and we only came to know each other when we met on the field for training. We all come together to train twice in a week and having a team outside the office makes us a stronger team inside the office.
"Also it promotes healthy living in the workplace."
Fiji TV has been drawn in pool 2 with Ched Bangers, Wainadoi II and Barbarians.
