Coach Victor Hermans has dimissed reports that the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) did not give the national futsal team rewards for winning the Southeast Asian title. The Thais beat Australia in the final in Bangkok recently and reports claimed each player got 2,000 baht from the Dutch coach as bonus.

"In my two years as coach of the Thai national futsal team, I was very surprised to read that the FAT didn't pay the players bonus for winning the AFF [Asean Football Federation] title," Hermans said.

He said he had told the players during the tournament that they would receive financial rewards from the FAT if they had a good result.

The Dutch coach said he went to Europe the day after the tournament and the players did get their bonus after he returned.
