By Doug Reed @DougReedFutsalMiguel Sayago Martí, better known as
Miguelín, has signed a contract extention with Spanish club El Pozo Murcia until 2017 with an option for a year more. This is excellent news for the runners up in last year´s Spanish Primera Division as he is a key player in their team.
This will be the 28 year old's third year with the club after signing from Manacor in 2011. In 2012 he won the Supercopa but has twice finished runner up in the league to FC Barcelona Alusport.
It ends uncertainty for the club as their were rumours that he would leave and our sources tell us he received offers from Barcelona and a club in Russia.
Commenting at the announcement of the contract extension Miguelín said "There has been a lot of speculation about my future and possible exit, but I wanted to continue here and it is untrue I wanted to leave for more money. Here I am happy and I won´t move, even if I have received other offers."
He added that the club has a "a good future" and highlighted the signing of Raul Campos from Santiago Futsal and the contract extension of pivot Alex. El Pozo will begin their season on 3rd September with the 1st leg of the Supercopa against Barcelona.
