A five-day FIFA/AFC Level 1 Futsal Certificate Coaching Course was conducted in Uzbekistan capital Tashkent last week.

Instructor Scott Henry Gilligan and Avaz Maksumov conducted the course participated by a total of 24 local futsal coaches.

This was the second Futsal Level 1 Course conduced in as many months by the Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFF). Earlier, 16 Uzbek coaches attended the course instructed by AFC instructor Ling Lu Hui and Avaz Maksumov in Tashkent.

According to UFF, the previous course was targeted for the professional coaches plying their trade in different professional clubs across the country while the latest one was for aspiring amateur coaches.

Uzbekistan is one of the emerging futsal nations of Asia. The Uzbeks were eliminated from the quarter-finals of the AFC Futsal Championship 2012 but their club side Ardus are one of the regulars of AFC Club Futsal Championship. They were the finalists of the 2012 edition of the Club Futsal finals.
