Ilford RecorderGenesis Futsal to hold summer camp at UELby
Lee PowerSaturday, August 3, 2013Coaching sessions for local youngsters availableGenesis Futsal Club will be running a two-week Summer Camp this month in partnership with the University of East London (UEL).
The camp will give young participants an opportunity to get involved in the small-sided format which taught Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Roberto Carlos their trade.
The sessions will be delivered by Genesis’ coaching team, who have experience of working with a variety of different age groups and playing at the highest national level.
They will share their expertise and philosophy with the players in order to give them an enjoyable insight into futsal, a great way to improve young participants’ football skills.
Recognised and supported by FIFA, UEFA and The FA, futsal is now played worldwide and differs from the regular five-a-side style familiar to many in the UK.
Attendees will learn basic futsal techniques and there will be competitions throughout the camp. All of Genesis’ coaches are CRB checked and first aid qualified and have the necessary coaching qualifications.
The main differences between futsal and 5v5 are marked lines rather than rebound boards - meaning the ball can go out of play - as well as square goals, heavier and ‘reduced bounce’ balls and a strict five-foul discipline law.
It encourages closer ball control and the game can prove a useful tool for players looking to improve their touch and technique.
The camp will take place between August 12-23 (10am-4pm) for boys and girls of all abilities aged 8-13 at the UEL SportsDock, E16 2RD.
Fees are £12 per day or £50 for one week and places can be booked through Trevor on (07936) 066467, Katrina on (07507) 235513 or via email at contact@genesisfc.co.uk. Further details on futsal can be found at www.essexfa.com.
