Monroyo) The 2013 Saipan Soccer School Youth Futsal League resumed over the weekend with the favored NMI A and B teams notching twin wins at the TSL Sports Complex.
In the second game last Saturday, NMI A coasted to an 7-1 victory over Asian Kanoa FC. Joel Fruit led the win, drilling a pair of goals, while Kennedy Izuka, John Masga, Dakota Hall, Jireh Yobech, and Jehn Joyner contributed one each.
NMI A scored three goals in the first half against only one from Asian Kanoa FC. Jun Sik Kim scored the lone goal for the losing squad.
NMI A (2-0-1) then returned to the pitch last Sunday and routed the Thundercats, 13-3.
The Thundercats (1-0-2) managed to keep up with NMI A in the first half, falling behind by only two goals before NMI A went on a rampage in the final 25 minutes of the match. Kenneth Domingo scored two goals, while Masga and Hall had one each to lift NMI A to a 4-2 halftime advantage. Brian Lee and Sun Joon Tenorio tallied one goal apiece for the Thundercats in the first half.
Then in the second half, NMI A found the back of the net nine times, while the Thundercats answered with only one goal, courtesy of Lee. Hall anchored NMI A’s second-half demolition with his hat-trick in the final frame, while Enrico del Rosario logged two goals. Carlson Cruzat, Joel Fruit, Masga, and Yobech contributed one apiece.
NMI B 6, Thundercats 2NMI B (3-0-0) also triumphed over the Thundercats in last Saturday’s final game.
NMI B took the win despite failing to score in the first half. Makani Gramlich was the lone player to break into the board in the opening 25 minutes of the match, giving the Thundercats a taste of the lead before NMI B buckled down to work in the second half.
Ryu Tanzawa led NMI B in the second half with his hat-trick, while Yoshi Mafnas, Jordan Butcheer, and John Taisacan added one goal each.
NMI B 3, Asian Kanoa FC 2Mafnas and Taisacan drilled one goal apiece, too in last Sunday’s match to help NMI B slipped past Asian Kanoa FC.
The two NMI B strikers scored in the second half, while Tanzawa made the other goal in the first half. Kim recorded both goals for Asian Kanoa FC (0-0-3)
Shirley’s 6, ALU FC 3In the only girls match last Saturday, Shirley’s made it two in a row against Alu FC.
Shirley’s FC, which eked out a 2-1 victory over ALU FC in the league opener last month before the competition took a break last week, fired three goals each in the first and second half to remain unbeaten.
Diana Maniacop nailed one goal apiece in the first and second half, while Elaine Enriquez, Michaela Gariguez, Diane Pablo, and Gabrielle Race added one each. ALU FC’s three goals came from Maile Aldrich, Chloe Salvosa, and Gillian Villagomez.
