Tehran TimesIranian women futsal into Asian Indoor Games final03 July 2013Iran women's futsal team advanced to final match of the first Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games on Wednesday.
In the match held at the Songdo Global University Campus in Incheon, South Korea, the Iranian team defeated Indonesia 4-0 in the semis.
Nasimeh Gholami, Fereshteh Karimi (two goals) and Niloufar Ardalan scored goals for Iran.
Elsewhere, Japan beat Thailand 2-1 in the semifinals.
Iran will face Japan in the final on Friday.
The 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games got underway in Incheon, South Korea from June 29 and will run until July 6.

Bangkok PostThai men meet Iran in futsal semis, women lose4 Jul 2013Swimmer Radomyos Matjiur was second in the men's 100m individual medley yesterday while the Thai men's futsal team will face Iran in the semi-finals at the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Incheon, South Korea.
Radomyos clocked 54.87 seconds behind champion Sun Xiaolei of China while Natthanan Junkrajang (54.92) got bronze in the women's 100m freestyle. Natthanan had won bronze medals in the 200m freestyle and
200m individual medley.
In the quarter-finals of the men's futsal, Thailand thrashed Lebanon 7-3 to book a semi-final place against Iran today. Thailand coach Victor Hermans admitted that Iran were better and stronger than his men but the Thais had prepared well and had a chance against the Asian powerhouse.
The Thai women's futsal team lost 2-1 to Japan in the semi-finals and will face Indonesia in tomorrow's bronze medal match.
The event ends on Saturday.
