Fiji not sending team to Oceania FUTSAL

Fiji will not be going to the Oceania FUTSAL Championships in Auckland, New Zealand this year.

Fiji Football Association has not been able to get a formidable team together and a decision has been made not to play this year.

FUTSAL committee member Hari Raj Naicker says to avoid humiliation, a decision was made not to send a team to Auckland

“Actually we started late and didn’t have a team ready and it would have been futile just to send an ad-hoc team and getting thrashed by some of the teams. This would have really affected our image.”

The good news is that two referees from Fiji will be officiating at these games providing them with exposure.

The Oceania FUTSAL Championship starts next month.
