International attendance at FutsalCoach Kick Off Clinic

Coaches arrived from around the world to attend three intense days of futsal at the Kick Off Centro Deportdivo in Milan, Italy. Speakers included Venancio López (Head Coach, Spain), Andrés Sanz (Head Coach, Atletico Madrid Navalcarnero) and Mico Martic (Head Coach, Finland).

This was the 2nd edition of the event and it has already become a reference in the world for coach education. The topics covered were “Spain´s Attacking Model” by Venancio, “Current Trends in the Teaching and Training of Individual Technique and Tactics” by Sanz and “Technical and Tactical Analysis of the 2012 World Cup” by Mico Martic.

To support the attendance of coaches from across the globe the course was available in English, Italian and Spanish. To ensure accurate and high quality translations the services of two people with distinguished futsal careers were employed. The translations provided by former Italian Serie A player Marcelo Mittleman and English professional player Doug Reed added to the success of the event.

The facilities where the event was held were excellent and allowed spontaneous discussions between the speakers and coaches that have shared their experiences and knowledge of futsal. This was not only during the presentations but also during meal times and coffee breaks where there was an informal and friendly atmosphere.

Discussions have already taken place for next year´s event which will build on the success of the previous two editions. Coach education is critical to develop the sport across the world and the Kick Off clinics will continue to support this objective.
