Skills sessions open to young soccer stars

Dozens of football stars of the future have been taking to the pitch to learn to play like Lionel Messi.

Futsal classes are taking place at The Voyager Academy every Saturday for children aged between three and seven.

Sara Strid-Coughlan, from class organisers Sports X-Tra said: “This is a chance for children to learn new skills, develop social skills, exercise and make lots of new friends at the popular Futsal School.

“Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that is widely played across the world and is officially recognized by the FA, UEFA and FIFA.”

Children aged three and four can play the game between 10am and 10.50am, while youngsters aged between five and seven lay between 11am and 11.50am.

Classes cost £5 per child, and parents are encouraged to stay and watch, and even take part.
