Pablo Prieto presented as new coach of Al Wahda in Abu Dhabi

At 11.30 today in the press room of the club Al-Wahda Sports Club, Spaniard Pablo Prieto, has been officially presented as their new head coach. He will be joined by fellow Spaniard Alvaro Lezáun.

The presentation was attended on behalf of the club by the President of the Futsal Section Mr Kaled, the director of the section Mr Sarmad Al Zadjaly and the manager Mr Nasser.

In the first act of the new futsal section in the club, the club president spoke about the new sporting project that will begin on 23rd June. The club will participate in the prestigious Raduam tournament in Kuwait. In addition he discussed the training camp that will take place in Spain at the end of August.

The 1st team of the club is still not complete and in this first period of training sessions there will be various trials for players to conclude the squad. There will be 15 players selected to dispute the upcoming UAE national league.

Pablo Prieto said "I am very happy to come to a great club and I take on the challenge of forming a new part of the club and being able to achieve the set objectives." The Spanish coach also highlighted "the amazing welcome for the Spanish staff from this great club that has a model structure."

Prieto also announced "The tournament in Kuwait is only to be able to make an evaluation of the team that is under construction and will arrive at the tournament after just 12 training session. However it will provide an evaluation of the work up until that moment."

The fitness coach, Alvaro Lezáun, said "I arrive with a lot of excitement and a huge desire to start work on the 23rd." The fitness coach arrives at the club after his experience with the Kuwait national team and will be joined at the club by English goalkeeper coach Andy Reading. The rest of the backroom staff will be local.
