KUNAK: Silam Member of Parliament Datuk Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur announced that every village in his constituency would be provided with a multi-purpose hall and a futsal court for the benefit of the people, especially the youth.

Nasrun, when met after Barisan Nasional (BN) winning thanksgiving ceremony at Dewan Sri Kunak yesterday, said the facilities are aimed at providing enabling and encouraging youths to hold recreational and sports activities.

He said through the facilities, youths could implement various programmes that could assist them to develop themselves.

“This also serves as a ‘gift’ to youths who have provided full support to Barisan Nasional during the 13th general election, and as a reward for their support, I will strive to implement these projects.

“Such facilities will also assist youths to apply a healthy lifestyle with exercise and sports, in line with our government’s objectives,” he said.

According to Nasrun, the projects would be implemented in stages within five years, and he would also strive to implement more developments for the benefit of the people in the Silam parliamentary constituency.

He added that the lack of water supply in the three districts under Silam parliamentary would also be one of his main agendas. As a member of parliament, he said he was aware of the importance of adequate water supply to the people.

Meanwhile, Kunak Umno Wanita coordinating committee member Sarbanun Alamansa said the establishment of a multi-purpose hall and futsal court would provide much benefits to the youth, especially in Kunak.
She said the government should also establish a skills training center for youths so that they do not have to go out of the district to improve their skills.

“Community leaders and people’s representatives must also work very hard and be on the ground to see the deficiencies and needs of the people so that this district will develop,” she added.
Meanwhile, about 1,000 people comprising Umno branch heads, component party leaders and BN machinery attended the thanksgiving ceremony.

Also present were Silam parliamentary liaison officer Aljen Jhonny and BN Kunak coordinating chairman Balnama Kaulu.
