UEFA Referees & Observers Course in MadridSince April 8th to 10th
UEFA, in cooperation with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has celebrated in Las Rozas (Madrid) the
6th Course for Futsal Referees, as well as the 1st ever organised for
Referees Observers.
The best news of the course was the presence, for the the first time, of the "Top People" from UEFA Football referees Committee. The course registered the visit of:
- Mr. Angel Maria
Villar Llona, chairman of UEFA Referees Unit
- Mr. Pierluigi
Collina, Chief Officer of UEFA Referees Unit
- Mr. Kyros
Vassaras, Chief Officer of Observers of UEFA Referees Unit
They were very impressed of the quality and professionalism of both referees and observers courses.
- 23 referees from 18 countries took part for the first time a UEFA Futsal referees course. They attended theoretical and practical sessions based on the last edition of the Laws of the Game 2012-13. They also passed the Futsal Fitness Test and a test to evaluate their english language knowledge.
- In adition, and for the first time ever, the whole group of
referees observers (20 in total) were discussing about uniformity of the observation in futsal matches.
The lectures were conducted by
Pedro A. Galán Nieto, Chairman of the Futsal Referees Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Kyros Vassaras also made a presentation about the observation in a UEFA football match.
Patrick Willemarck was in charge of the practical session with the referees.
At the end of the course all the participants expressed their satisfaction for the overall success of both courses. The idea of UEFA is to celebrate next course at the end of the year in Belgium, previous to the Futsal EURO 2014.
