Adam BakerCity’s teams trained by Barca futsal legend.City’s futsal teams have been treated to a training session by ex-Brazil and Barcelona star Paulo Ricardo “Kaká”.
Kaká, now manager of Gazprom-Ugra – a professional futsal side in Russia – is in England spending time meeting young futsal stars of the future.
He hosted training sessions for all four of City’s futsal teams at Action Indoor Sports Centre in Whitchurch, much to the delight of all taking part.
Chris Stenner, from the Community Trust, said: “We have four different teams competing in local leagues and all are on course to qualify for the national Football Trust finals.
“We’re looking to expand this further next year, which will be our third. Not only will we take on a further 20 boys, but also 20 girls for a new futsal venture.
“All of them study a BTEC level 3 course in sport to help them towards further education.
“We have five of our current intake involved in the England development setup – and having a visit from the likes of Kaká will only benefit their progress.”
Later this week Kaká will be in London with the best futsal player in the world, Neto, for a coaching masterclass.
