Tanyaluk SakootTuesday 2 April 2013Mr Preechawut confirmed his resignation at a meeting at the Patong Bay Resortel on Saturday (March 30).
“The reason that I have quit is because I have many things to do with my business and other matters,” Mr Preechawut said at the meeting, adding that the club needs more support from others.
But he said he did not think that Phuket United would be adversely effected by his decision: “I believe the club will be okay in the future.”
Mr Preechawut, the son of Patong Mayor Pian Keesin, said he had spent tens of millions of baht to keep the Phuket United futsal club running, and that other supporters would now need to help the club financially.
Phuket United has enjoyed a successful season in the GMM Sport Thailand Futsal Premier League, finishing fifth in the league when the season ended two weeks ago.
So far, a new president for Phuket United has not been named.
