Futsal finals deferred

Monday, 25 March 2013

The finals for the Honiara Men’s Open Futsal competition have been deferred for Tuesday.

According to the organisers the reason for postponing the final matches was due to a number of reasons.

“First we started late today (yesterday) due to the late restoration of power after it blanked out early in the afternoon,” organizer Victor Wai’i said.

“The second reason is pretty obvious to those who attended the matches and that is the because of the behavior seen among some of the supporters.

“So the organisers having much concern for the safety of both players and others decided it’s best to defer the match,” Wai’i said.

The finals next week will feature semi final losers, Brisolona and Matak at 3pm at the Multipurpose Hall followed by the final between Kuks Town and G-Camp.

G-Camp continued their winning streak defeating Mataks 3-1 and Kuks Town thrashed Brisolon 4-0 in the semi finals yesterday.

Wai’i called on all supporters to come and give their support behind their teams on Tuesday but strongly advised they do it with good spirit.
