AGLA Develops Young Talent

AGLA develops budding talents. The Marche brand in the sportswear sponsor of “Io Calcio a 5”, the project established by Divisione calcio a 5 in 2010-11. It is now in its third year following the development of the collaboration with the youth section and school of the FIGC. The core of the project is the creation of futsal schools for the whole of Italy in association with the clubs from Serie A, Serie A2 and Serie B in the process of establishing and developing the youth game.

After three years the first objective has been achieved through more and improved youth futsal. Many families have discovered this sport through the creation of these youth teams and developed from ordinary fans to real devotees of the game. The clubs have offered the families and adults a way to participate in the teaching and communicating sporting and societal values together.

The project obliges the teams participating in the national championships to create their own youth programs. Specifically insisting that the clubs that participate in the youth leagues that there is continuous monitoring of the quality of the coaches.

The “Io Calcio a 5” book is an essential guide for the training of youth players. For less experienced coaches the “Manuale Io Calcio a 5” has been prepared by the coach of the national futsal team, Roberto Menichelli.

This manual uses illustrations and explanations of the basic techniques and specific characteristics of futsal but also the fundamental exercises for the appropriate growth and technical development of the youth player.

Further the excellent design and graphics have captured the interest of UEFA so much that they have called for an edition of the manual in English. Always with the view to improve and advance a video version of “Manuale Io Calcio a 5” has been developed on DVD.

The project “Io Calcio a 5”, which AGLA decided to support fully, has been a great success and has led to an increase in the number of teams competing in the national championships.

Positives and negatives can be taken from Treviglio where Italy hosted two friendlies against Portugal, their quater final opponents in the last World Cup in Thialand. Italy were 2-1 victors in the first game but the Portuguese got their revenge with a 4-2 win in the second friendly. The head coach, Roberto Menichelli, called up four AGLA REPRESENTATIVES from the Asian adventure which were goalkeeper STEFANO MAMMARELLA, starting in goal in the 1st match, HUMBERTO HONORIO, 1st scorer in the 2nd game, MARCO ERCOLESSI, who started both games and RODOLFO FORTINO, who was in the starting five in the last match.
