Foreign players from Croatia and Bosnia Herzegovina reinforced Chengdu Rongchao futsal club in December in the second stage of the China Futsal League 2012/2013.

The ex-Croatian national team player Patrik Drndic and the captain of the Bosnia Herzegovina national futsal team Alen Lalic are now playing in the roster of Chengdu Rongchao Futsal Club in China.

Chengdu Rongchao Futsal Club is a newly established club in this season and has been ranking the 8th place so far out of the 13 club teams in the China Futsal league. In order to avoid the prospect of the relegation, the club management has made an audacious decision to have foreign players to help this team with better results in the remaining 20 games during the coming three months.

Based on his personal experience with the players from both Brazil and Japan, the Head coach Mr. Shan zhiping, who is the assistant coach of China national futsal team and the coach of Zhejiang yellow dragon futsal club in last season, is determined this time to have players from European sources.

Drndic and Lalic have played 4 game over the past two weekends against Shanghai and Qingdao. The two players exhibited good performance in terms of technique and tactics. In particular, when Chengdu played against the league runner up Qingdao on this weekend, the two players played a very important role in attacking and defending. With his assisting in organization of the play, Drndic controlled the pace of the game and assisted many scores in the last games. Lalic impressed the local crowds with his wonderful scoring abilities in every game. Chengdu finally managed a win over Qingdao and Shanghai and a draw to each of them at home venue. Chengdu futsal has expressed the conviction to sign new contract with these two players for the next whole season.

There is an upward tendency of having foreign players on the club teams in the futsal league in China now. Except for Henan and Beijing, who are at the bottom of the league standing, all the clubs have foreign players to play along with the domestic players. It is stipulated by the China Futsal committee that two foreign players can only play on the court at the same time.
