Takoma Park futsal league will accept 60 players

First game on Jan. 6 at city recreation center

The deadline is fast approaching for kids in second through fourth grade who want to play in the Takoma Park Recreation Department’s Futsal League this winter.

The registration deadline for the coed league is Jan. 6 or earlier, depending on how quickly the league’s 60 spots fill up.

The first indoor soccer game will kick off Jan. 6, and all games of the six-week season will be held at the Takoma Park Recreation Center from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The players will practice each Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The registration fee is $60 for Takoma Park residents, and there are scholarship opportunities available to city residents who can provide proof of enrollment in the Free or Reduced Meals program or similar financial assistance program.
