RODOLFO, what stopped you from winning The Golden Boot?
“A single goal. I was disappointed that the player that won it was a Russian (Eder Lima) who scored 7 of his 9 goals in one game, the 16-0 victory over Soloman Islands.

For someone not originally selected it was a good world cup. And a satisfactory one?
”Very much so. I thank my teammates that have always been very supportive, especially when my participation in the World Cup was uncertain. They gave me a lot of confidence. I thank them for that.

Do you have anything to complain about?
“Nothing.”

What is your best memory from the World Cup?
“There were so many. I remember with great pleasue the affection shown by the people of Thailand. At the conclusion of each game they were asking for autographs and pictures.”

Which player impressed you the most?
“Brazil’s Neto because he always defended very well and scored important goals, including the two in the final against Spain.”

Who was the surprise?
For me it was Colombia who made it to the semi-finals. Achieving this goal meant knocking out teams with much bigger reputations like Iran and Ukraine.

“Very well. I’m very happy with the CONDOR.”
