Chema Jiménez becomes head coach at Baku UnitedBy
Doug ReedA Spanish coach taking over the reigns at a London club has been this week’s biggest sport story. It was announced that Chema Jiménez has become the new coach of Baku United Futsal Club.
Last season Jiménez was the head coach at one of the world’s most successful clubs, Inter Movistar of Madrid, and has decided that his next challenge will be in England. This will not be the first time he has worked outside Spain as he was previously the assistant coach and U21 coach at Russian powerhouse Dina Moscow.
Jiménez was in attendance to observe Baku´s 11-1 victory over Kickers before he took responsibility of the team from Monday. There will be no settling in period for the new manager as Baku play London United, who have started the season strongly, in back to back games over the next two weeks followed by a fixture against Baltic.
