Residents say 'no' to futsal court

PETALING JAYA: Residents of Section 21, Sea Park, here, want the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to put a futsal court project on hold

12 November 2012

Petaling Jaya Utara Federal Development coordinator Datuk Dr Wong Sai Hou said residents were opposed to the plan to build the futsal court around the playground area.

"Residents are not happy with the plan. There are many consequences if city council carries on with the project," said Dr Wong.

He said the project should be postponed because of the narrow access road which links the Paramount View Condominium to Jalan 21/27.

"Residents living around Jalan 21/27, Jalan 21/20, Jalan 21/16 and Jalan 21/28 are the ones who are highly affected and they want the authorities to solve the problems first," said Dr Wong.

He said the narrow access road would lead to more traffic problems.

Tina Ng, who lives in Jalan 21/27, said she faced traffic problems almost every morning.

"I have to leave home before 7am. Otherwise, I cannot go out until 9am," she said.

Another resident, Eric Wong, said the road was congested because of illegally parked cars.

"Commuters who use the Taman Paramount LRT stations find it easy to park their cars at this access road," he said, adding that he was worried about the safety of children at the playground.
