Maes Birger, AGLA testimonial ...
NAME: Maes
SURNAME: Birger
DATE OF BIRTH: 11/10/1978
PLACE OF BIRTH: Diest (Belgium)
POSITION: Goalkeeper
TEAM: Cormed Zg Leuven
SPONSORED: since 2010

Best Match:
"The Belgian Cup final in 2008. I was playing for KK Malle and we faced Futsal Top Sport Antwerp. We won 5-2 and I was elected MVP of the finals."

The biggest regret:
"I started playing futsal too late. In 2005. I played for 12 years in the first division, Topdevision, handball league in Belgium".

The most important skill:
"As a futsal goalkeeper reflexes are very important. I feel great when I can stop the shot of an opponent only with my reflexes."

The AGLA model that enhances this skill:
"The CONDOR and NEW ONE."

The most effective defence:
"What in Belgium we call ‘de ruit’. It is when the defenders push their opponents to the wings and protect the center. The opposition pivot cannot receive the ball. In this way the defenders are very compact and the whole team are together following the movement of the ball ".

The most appealing attacking system:
"In the eyes of a goalkeeper the most important thing is that the defenders do everything to avoid conceding a goal."

What to eat before a match:
"To tell you the truth not much. A little bit of pasta and a piece of bread. An hour before the game I’ll eat some fruit (banana, orange ...). Shortly before playing I eat an energy bar such as Isostar."

The strongest opponent:
"I’d say Karim Bali playing with Eindhoven in Holland and Edwin ‘The Emperor’ Grunholz who has retired but was European futsal player of the year."

The talent of a coach:
"They must be able to motivate all the players to give 101% of what they have to win the game ... When all the players are tired a coach must only say things that can make the players makie that final push to grab the 3 points. This is what I mean by good coach. "

Favourite shoes:
“The NEW ONE”

Favourite Ball:
”Both the BOLA ONE and the BOLA FIVE".

Italy has finised as the leaders in Group 4 and is into the 2nd round of the Futsal World Cup that is underway in Thailand. The key players, in which it could be no other way, have been the four AGLA SPONSORED players that coach Menichelli took for the Asian adventure. The goalkeeper STEFANO MAMMARELLA and outfield players MARCO ERCOLESSI, RODOLFO FORTINO and HUMBERTO HONORIO. The blues debuted in flying colours with a 9-1 victory over the kangaroos of Australia. The goalscorers were the AGLA players of FORTINO and HONORIO plus Saad (double), Lima, Forte, Romano, Mentasti and Merlim. The next contest was certainly more challenging in the next game for the Azzurri. Italy imposed a 3-2 victory against Argentina placing them top of the group. The key player was again AGLA MAN FORTINO, who scored alongside Lima and Saad. Italy held onto first place by finishing the qualification phase with a win against a Mexico side that was last placed and already out of the competition. Menichelli’s men won the game 5-2. Dominating the game were two AGLA SPONSORED players, ERCOLESSI and FORTINO, both authos of two goals. Leggiero finished the scoring. With 4 goals already to his name, FORTINO is the team’s highest goalscorer. Another who has had a big impact on the tournament is STEFANO MAMMARELLA, used in the first two games. The Azzurri’s number 1 is giving convincing evidence of why he is so well regarded.

It has been an unfortunate adventure for the Libyan national team coached by Spaniard PABLO PRIETO, who is SPONSORED BY AGLA. The African contingent showed some good ideas but had to contend with the overwhelming power of the Brazilians (13-0). Next up was a difficult game against the Portugues (5-1 with the Libyan goal scored by Ahamed Fathe) and finally a contest against the Japanese for 3rd place (4-2 with the two goals of Libya scored by Mohamed Rahoma) For PABLO PRIETO’s boys it will remain in their memories as a great experience.

Looking to the future. With the brand new AGLA ONE 2012, renamed “THE ONLY ONE”, AGLA has created a professional product using the latest technology. A futuristic shoe, not only in design but also in the materials used. As always the Research & Development department has utilised the advice from university research studies while AGLA’s designers have created another masterpiece. A shoe that is perfect for futsal.

Analysing the technical features we should highlight the uniqueness of the AGLA ONE 2012. Marche has added the AGLA 5-PAD on the bottom of each shoe to ensure it gives the maximum transpiration of the foot

AGLA ONE 2012 has THE NEW ANTI-SHOCK SYSTEM in the heel to prevent injuries.

The sole is made of a natural BIO-DENSITY rubber which gives grip in all game situations. It ensures maximum grip is available on all surfaces.

The soft upper uses the SLIM SYSTEM and is an optimal mix of various materials such as canvas and polyurethane reinforcements for maximum grip, increased comfort and great durability, requirements for this sport.

The insole is both ANATOMICAL in shape and REMOVABLE.

The ANATOMICAL shape maximises the grip available to the foot.

Finally there is a protective element on the toe for precise and powerful shooting, a unique requirement for the futsal shoe.

This masterpiece of technology and innovation could not be complete without a touch of FLAIR. Each box provides two laces of different colours to give a customisable touch for the player.

To conclude, the AGLA ONE 2012 is a high-performance shoe. It is designed for serious players and professionals and is suitable for all game situations, especially in performing quick changes of direction.
