The Bangkok PostThailand loses 3-2 to Paraguay at futsal8/11/2012Thailand lost 3-2 to Paraguay in their last group game at the Futsal World Cup last night.
With Ukraine defeating Costa Rica 6-1 in the other Group A game, the Thais finished third in the group and could still advance to the next round depending on results of matches in the remaining groups today and tomorrow.
The top two teams from each of the six groups and four best third-placed sides progress to the knockout stages.
At Hua Mark Indoor Stadium, Paraguay raced to a 3-0 lead. Thailand fought back bravely to cut the deficit to 3-2.
The Thais then squandered several chances in the final minutes trying to get an equaliser which would have sent them on to the round of 16.
