The Bangkok PostBMA delays laying futsal stadium floor3/11/2012The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has delayed laying the wooden floor of the Bangkok Futsal Arena in Nong Chok district at the request of Fifa.
Wasant Meewong, BMA spokesman, said the BMA had originally ordered the wooden floor from Malaysia but Fifa preferred the wooden floor made in the United States instead.
But the US-made wooden floor was awaiting customs clearance in China. The US-made floor will be delivered to Thailand today and the floor laying done on Monday, in time for the World Futsal Games on Nov 14, 16, and 18.
The 12,000-seat Bangkok Futsal Arena in Nong Chok was slated as the main venue for the tournament, which would host the opening ceremony and matches from the first round.
