Kurukuru feeling prepared ahead of Futsal World Cup

26 October, 2012

The Solomon Islands captain Elliot Rogomo says his team is feeling fully-prepared for the Futsal World Cup, after a build-up which left no stone unturned.

The Kurukuru spent a number of months training together in Honiara before a match against Australia and then spent 11 days at a training camp in Spain.

Elliot Rogomo says they could not have asked for a better build-up.
“Out first game against Australia was very good and then we went to Spain. The preparation there was just amazing - we played a couple of big club teams and it really helped us for the coaches and for the players to see the difference here and a very high level of futsal game. To play against Spain also is just an amazing thing and it gives us a really big boost for the team. When all the boys have confidence we go out there and give everything because we have nothing to lose.”
The team has it’s final warm-up match tomorrow against Egypt tomorrow before their world cup opener against Russia next weekend.
