The tournament, the first-ever Bahrain women's football league, will be organised by the Supreme Council for Women in co-operation with the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
It's part of the Bahrain Women's Games, which gets underway tomorrow at 4pm at the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation premises near the National Stadium in Isa Town.
PatroniseHer Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and President of the Supreme Council for Women, will patronise the opening ceremony.
The Games is one of the events to be held on the sidelines of Bahrain Women's Day, which will be dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of Bahraini women in the sporting arena.
Other sporting disciplines to be organised during the Games are basketball, bowling, table tennis, volleyball, disabled sports, shooting and athletics.
In the futsal event, eight teams will be competing for glory. The remaining six are the Bahrain under-16 team, Arsenal 'Red', Interior Ministry, Hamad Town, Al Sa'ada and Bahrain Defence Force.
At the draw ceremony, hosted by the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) in Riffa, the teams were divided into two groups of four.
In Group 'A', favourites Riffa are placed on top of the group, which also features Arsenal 'Red', Arsenal 'Yellow' and Hamad Town.
Group 'B' consist of the Bahrain under-16 team, Bahrain Defence Force, Al Sa'ada and the Interior Ministry team.
The first round will see round robin matches and the tournament will conclude on November 21 with the final and a prize-distribution ceremony.
The draw ceremony was attended by BOC women's committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, BFA Women's Committee chairwoman Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, BFA Referees Committee chairman Abdulrahman Abdulkhaleq and BFA Competitions Committee chairman Hassan Ismail.
