The project we are looking to get funded by the “crowd” is to one to deliver free futsal sessions to selected schools and communities in the Teesside area, in particular underprivileged or deprived areas of the region.

We would need to raise £1,500 to deliver futsal to 10 schools/communities for 4-6 weeks and leave them with balls to be able to continue with futsal should they so wish. The coaching would culminate with a festival for all schools/communities involved, which would coincide with a Middlesbrough Futsal Club first team match.

With the Olympics on the top of everybody’s tongues we will be introducing a future Olympic sport to children at the right age to have the chance to participate in the Olympics when futsal becomes an Olympic Sport, most likely in eight years time!

All groups involved will be given enough information to be able to carry on futsal, such as where to enrol on courses for coaches, enter leagues etc., and how to get involved with Middlesbrough Futsal Club.

Should funding be secured, schools/communities would be invited to apply for the free sessions and several communities would be selected to run sessions in.

Promotion and advertising for the project would begin with the funding and continued should it be secured.

The more money raised over the target would allow more coaching to be delivered based on £150 per block of coaching.

We are looking for backers who want to help make a difference to children of the Teesside area who may not have the means to get involved with our current futsal programmes.

Middlesbrough Futsal Club
Middlesbrough was founded in 2007 and plays in the FA National Futsal League. Boro have competed in the Grand Finals on two occasions finishing second in the group on both occasions, missing out on a place in the final. The current squad is made up of mostly local players, eight of whom have progressed through the successful futsal academy and has an average age of 20.

The long term aim of the club is to compete in the UEFA Futsal Cup with a team full of Teessiders and to be well and truly integrated into the local community. A project like this, funded by the community will further enhance the club’s position in the region.
