Wild Bill's clinched the men's championship in the 2012 Saipan Soccer School Summer Futsal League after defeating Godfather's, 11-5, last Monday night at the TSL Sports Complex in Gualo Rai.

Wild Bill's remains unbeaten in seven games and with only one game left and Godfather's dropping to a 6-0-2 win-draw-loss card, there is no way that the former can be removed from the top spot in the five-team field.

Godfather's drew first blood in the title-deciding match off Ropati Tonuu's goal in the second minute of the opening half. However, Wild Bill's quickly answered with Tanapon Unsa hitting a cross from the right sideline. Unsa added one more goal, while Lar Wonpariya also had a pair and Jack Thoensaket chipped in one in the final half of the first frame to lift Wild Bill's to a 5-3 halftime lead.

Godfather's two other goals in the first half all came from Tonuu and the team had limited options on offense early, as Otsuka Masatoshi got injured and Chris Nelson and Steve McKagan were tightly guarded.

Nelson and McKagan continued to struggle in the second half, while the Thoensaket-Unsa combo nailed two goals apiece to duplicate Kai Khamka's production and power Wild Bill's to the title win.

Tonuu had another goal for Godfather's in the second half, while Masatoshi finally made it to the scoreboard in the last 25 minutes of play.

WOMEN'S

Wild Bill's 7, Mellow Yellow 0
Wild Bill's boosted its chances for the women's crown after shutting out Mellow Yellow.

Wild Bill's now has a 6-2-1 slate for solo first place in the six-team field, one win ahead of Shirley's Coffee Shop (5-2-1) and Xerox (5-1-3).

Sara Allen anchored Wild Bill's demolition of Mellow Yellow, firing five goals. Windy Orcine and Korapin Sareebutr logged one each in the lopsided win.

Mellow Yellow fell to a 0-1-8 record and has one more chance to break into the win column this week.

BOYS U18

Thundercats 8, IT&E 2
The Thundercats made it three in a row after downing IT&E.

The Thundercats improved to a 5-0-3 record to keep the No. 2 spot behind the undefeated and likely boys U18 champion Astig Futsal (6-0-0).

Makani Gramlich paced the Thundercats with his hat-trick, while Timothy Tawanpiy and Zhi Peng Lin chipped in two each. Raphael Zapanta contributed one goal.

John Taisacan and Sung Bae Park had one goal apiece in IT&E's third loss in six games.

SATURDAY GAMES

IT&E Awesome 7, Xerox 3
In the lone women's game last Saturday, IT&E Awesome notched back-to-back wins after stunning the third-running Xerox.

Michelle Masga had a hat-trick for IT&E, which now has a 3-1-5 card with only one game left in the double-round robin league. Mikky Vargas added two goals, while Clarice Mendoza and Jeralyn Castillo had one each for the streaking IT&E.

Astig Futsal 18, Mean Machine 3
Astig Futsal kept its perfect slate in the boys U18 division after routing Mean Machine.

Unsa led Astig's thrashing of Mean Machine (0-0-8), scoring five goals. Konkoed contributed four, Marc Mora made three, and Kenneth Domingo drilled two. Astig also drew one goal apiece from Billy Hinson, Woo Seon Choi, and Jeff Palacios.

Angelo Guevarra drained Mean Machine's two goals, while the other one came from Dale Ballesteros.

IT&E 9, Astig Futsal 1
In the early match last weekend, IT&E whipped Astig Futsal in their boys U14 duel.

It was IT&E's third win against Astig (1-2-3) after drawing their first two matches. Dakota Hall had four goals in the easy win, while Taisacan scored three. Greg Sablan and Julien Pellegrino posted one goal each.

Palacios and Evan Belcher gave Astig one goal apiece.
