Hacienda CDC, Beaumont Futsal Club to host exhibition game in Northeast Portland

The Hacienda Community Development Corporation and the Beaumont Futsal Club are teaming up to show Northeast Portland what the variation on soccer is all about -- in anticipation of a new futsal court coming to the Cully community.

The exhibition game will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Cully Community Market. According to a release, market patrons can also purchase tickets that day to the Portland Timbers Aug. 26 game. A portion of the $10 tickets will go to the futsal court.

Supporters recently broke ground on the project near the intersection of N.E. Cully Boulevard and Killingsworth Street. The goal is to provide kids in an area with few parks a safe place to get exercise. Construction is expected to be completed in the early autumn.
